William Lester Allen

William Lester Allen, 86, of 211 Gary Street, went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 26, 2013. He was born on February 14, 1927 in Johnston County to the late James Edgar Allen and Hattie Royal Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Virginia Whitehurst Allen on January 22, 2011, four brothers and five sisters. Lester was a devoted husband; a loving and caring father; grandfather and great-grandfather. As long as his health permitted, he was an active member of Landmark Free Will Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Landmark Free Will Baptist Church, 9011 Chapel Hill Road, Cary, NC 27513.

Burial: Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh with Military Honors.

Surviving: children, Ken Allen (Paula) of Cary, Diane Allen Price (Phil) of Georgia, Gary Allen of Raleigh, Teresa Allen Newman (Norris) of Raleigh, Vicki Allen Dupree (Hall) of the home; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Fletcher Allen of Nashville, TN; sister, Betty Sue Daughtry of Four Oaks.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Free Will Baptist Church Missions in memory of Lester Allen.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Crabtree Rehab for the special love and care they extended to him while in their care.
