Blue Devils drop series to Terrapins

— Duke was unable to capitalize on a solid effort from starter Robert Huber, dropping the series Sunday 4-1 Maryland.

Huber scattered six hits over eight innings, struck out six and did not walk a batter in the loss.

Andy Perez, Chris Marconcini, Grant McCabe, Kenny Koplove and Reed Anthes each had a hit for Duke (25-22, 9-15). Maryland improved to 25-21, 8-16.

Florida State 11, Wake Forest 2: Seminoles starter Scott Sitz struck out eight and Florida State (35-9, 16-8) completed the sweep against the visiting Deacons.

Austin Stadler took the loss for Wake Forest (24-23, 7-17).

Conference USA

East Carolina 4, Memphis 3: Drew Reynolds went 4-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and collected his 10th save of the season for the host Pirates (23-21, 8-7).

East Carolina took the series from Memphis (26-19, 9-9).

MEAC

N.C. Central 15, Florida A&M 11: The visiting Eagles racked up a season-high 18 hits.

Luis Diaz and Tyson Simpson hit home runs for N.C. Central (25-23, 12-12).

Florida A&M is 5-40, 4-17.

Southern Conference

Elon 9, Georgia Southern 1: Kyle Webb struck out a personal-best 11 for the visiting Phoenix (23-23, 15-9).

Elon avoided a sweep by Georgia Southern (23-20, 12-12).
