Durham police say death of man found in house was murder

— Police on Tuesday were investigating what they said was the homicide of a man officers found dead in a house at 1811 Guess Road.

The body of Kevin Ramon Leathers, 41, was found in the house after police were called there shortly after midnight, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.

Officials initially said it was unclear how Leathers died, but they later termed the case a homicide. They have not released details about how Leathers died or why they think his death was a homicide.

The original call for police was to help Emergency Medical Services personnel who had been called to the house.
