Man charged with Raleigh Walmart stickup in March, drug possession

— A 25-year-old Raleigh man arrested on drug charges also is accused of using a handgun to stick up a Walmart store March 31.

Detectives charged Brandon Christopher Givens of 6231 Lynncrest Lane after questioning at their offices Tuesday evening, according to an arrest report.

Given was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon in the stickup of the Walmart at 1725 New Hope Church Road and with conspiring with someone else who police have not yet identified.

Given used a 9 mm handgun in the robbery, an arrest warrant says.

Other warrants allege that on Tuesday, Givens had 381 grams of marijuana in his apartment and 32.4 grams in his 2001 Honda Passport.

The drug charges were two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver it and two counts of maintaining places for keeping and selling drugs – the apartment and the car.

Police also served him with a warrant for failing to make a previous court appearance in a different matter, and he was being held on $81,000 bail for a court appearance Wednesday.
