E.O. Bizzell died on May 4, 2013 in his home “3 miles east of Pine Level” surrounded by his family. He dedicated his 91 years of life to the service for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was an active member at Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a deacon and the Sunday School Superintendent for more than 50 years. In 1974 he was awarded “One of the Top Ten Sunday School Superintendents” from General Pentecostal Holiness Conference. His heart always had a happy song. He led the church service music for many years and sang multiple specials. He was well known to sing “The Winning Side” at any time.
Pa also enjoyed the outdoors by hunting with his many beagles and friends. He valued the time spent with his family! He always made time to visit the sick and drive his dump truck. His favorite past time was making everyone around him smile and laugh with his “Obie-isms” and jokes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but we will meet again in Glory.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday night at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
