Garner man charged in NCSU assault

— A Garner man surrendered at the Wake County Detention Center Sunday after N.C. State University police charged him in warrants related to an April 25 sexual assault on campus.

Marlon Clayton Miller, 21, of 120 Johnson St., Garner, was charged with second-degree forcible sex offense, first-degree kidnapping and the communication of threats, according to the department. Miller was being held in lieu of $752,000 bail for a court appearance Monday.

An NCSU student reported that she was assaulted near the NCSU Free Expression Tunnel.

In a separate incident early Sunday morning, NCSU police said a male student reported that two men punched him in the face and robbed him in a parking lot at the Avent Ferry Technology Center. The two men, wearing a black hoodie and a dark gray hoodie, fled in a dark-colored sedan.
