Rane Winslow: Gun wonders

Gun wonders

Regarding gun legislation working its way through our legislature (May 8 news article): I’m wondering how many N.C. State or other college students park on campus? Own cars? What good does it do a law-abiding owner to have a legally owned gun locked in a car miles away? (In my own experience, campus parking is expensive and college students often take a bus, walk to campus or park far away and use a combination of the two.)

Is the result of this legislative action, if approved, to provide notice to thieves, that any car parked in a neighborhood near campus or in a parking lot might have a sellable weapon inside? Just wondering. And when has it ever been a good idea to mix alcohol and guns? Really wondering.
