Durham police arrest one of two sought in Eva Street shooting

— Police on Friday arrested Jarrion Hood, 17, one of two men they were seeking in a Tuesday night shooting that left a 36-year-old man seriously wounded.

Officers picked up Hood in the 900 block of Angier Avenue, spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.

He lives on Angier Avenue.

Still at large and wanted in the shooting was Tyrico “Smiley” Bowens, 19, of Grant Street.

Police had said Hood and Bowens were suspects in the shooting of a 36-year-old man, whom they have not identified, Tuesday night.

The man was walking in the 800 block of Eva Street when two men came up behind him and shot him, then fled in a van, police said.

Hood was being in lieu of $5 million bail.
