Robert Franklin Williamson

Robert Franklin Williamson, 81, passed away Friday May 10, 2013 at Carolina East Hospice Care Center in Kenansville. Mr. Williamson was born October 3, 1931 in Duplin County to the late David Stephen Williamson (longtime sheriff of Duplin County) and Margaret Malloy Williamson.

Mr. Williamson was a lifelong resident of Kenansville and member of Kenansville United Methodist Church. He was also a longtime member of the Warsaw-Kenansville Rotary Club. Mr. Williamson graduated from East Carolina University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He was a well known farmer and magistrate for 26 years.

Mr. Williamson is survived by wife, Kay Sanderson Williamson of Kenansville, NC; son, Robert Thomas Williamson and wife, Ana Carolina Barrios Sosa of Keyport, NJ; daughter, Sara Kay Williamson Bugler and husband, Peter Bugler of Orrtanna, PA, grandchildren, Kaya Jean Bugler and Barrett Oaks Bugler; brother, Stephen M. Williamson and wife, Nancy Williamson of Kenansville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by brother, David “buddy” Williamson, sisters, Hazel Scott and Lois Precythe.

Visitation will be held 1:00 - 2:30 p. m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Kenansville United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. and burial will conclude the service in Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville, NC.
