— The crowd of 6,708 braved a short rain storm and were treated to seven goals in Carolina’s 5-2 victory over San Antonio at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday.

RailHawks captain Floyd Franks opened the scoring in the 13th minute before forwards Brian Shriver and Zack Schilawski scored two goals apiece. The Scorpions tallied in the 20th and 65th minutes with goals from Hans Denissen and Nikola Vasilic, respectively.

“We are very happy with tonight’s result,” said RailHawks (3-0-2) coach Colin Clarke. “Anytime you score 5 goals you are delighted and some of those goals were really special. The crowd was great tonight and everyone felt privileged to play in front of them.”
