Girl Scouts add fun twist to collecting shoe donations

Girl Scouts from Troop 697 show off their different shoes on a Different Shoe Day they held at their school, St. Thomas More in Chapel Hill, to collect donations of shoes for charity.

Girl Scouts from Troop 697 in Chapel Hill collected 70 pairs of shoes for the FootCentric charity recently.

The Girl Scout Juniors, all students at St. Thomas More School in Chapel Hill, held a “Different Shoe Day” at school to add some fun to the event and encourage classmates to donate their gently used shoes.

The troop members are Avery Ascher, Lillian Byrth, Hannah Ford, Anna Hogan, Larissa Joklik, Emma Kang, Sophia Murphy, Cristina Patmore, Emily Robers, Grace Sigman, Ella Sullivan and Camille Zehner.
