Emily Kay Hayes

Emily Kay Hayes, 83, of Springmoor Retirement Center died Tues. She was born Sept 11, 1929. The Hayes’s were long time residents of Baldwin County, AL until moving to Springmoor in 2001.

Emily impacted many lives as a teacher, Girl Scout leader and mentor to students at Baldwin County High School. She was an active member of many organizations: First United Methodist Church of Bay Minette, the Josephine Baptist Church, Quest Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Chi Omega.

Emily is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Andrew Wilson Hayes of Raleigh and two daughters Emily H. (Mark) McMillan of Raleigh, and Page (Jim) Skinner of Milton, FL.; grandchildren: Emily E., Sarah, and Wilson McMillan of Raleigh, and Brandon Skinner of Milton; sister: Freda (Jim) Taylor of Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frank Kay and Emily N. Kay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of the following: First United Methodist Church of Bay Minette, Josephine Baptist Church, Soapstone United Methodist Church, Alzheimers NC, Inc.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Mon, May 13 in the auditorium at Springmoor.
