After reading about N.C. House Bill 693 (Parental Consent Bill), an interesting thought occurred to me. I will assume that, because the bill requires parental consent before receiving birth control, males under the age of 18 will also be required to have parental consent and a notarized letter, naturally, before purchasing condoms.
Yes, this will cause havoc to ensue at drugstores across the state, but to do otherwise would be the height of hypocrisy. You cannot require females to follow this law and allow males to purchase birth control willy-nilly. There can be no double standard.
Good luck figuring out how to enact that one.
