Suspect charged in Harris Teeter armed robbery in Raleigh

From staff reportsMay 14, 2013

— Policed have filed a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon against Brian Levar Watson, saying he used as handgun to rob a Harris Teeter grocery store on Falls of Neuse Road two weeks ago.

Watson, 33, of 10624 Orchid Lane in Raleigh, had been arrested earlier on a charge that he missed a court appearance, and he was at the Wake County Courthouse when police charged him Monday morning with the robbery and a second failure-to-appear charge.

Police had appealed for the public’s help in finding a man who got away with $582.21 from the store at 6024 Falls of Neuse Road on April 30.

They distributed a photo of the man leaving the store.

Magistrates set Watson’s bail at $163,000 on all the charges.
