Charlotte Bobcats small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was chosen second-team all-rookie in a vote of the NBAs 30 head coaches.
Kidd-Gilchrist, the second overall pick in last Junes draft, finished eighth in the balloting, which was not position-specific. Rookie of the year Damian Lillard (Portland) made first team, as did former North Carolina star Harrison Barnes, now with the Golden State Warriors. Washingtons Bradley Beal, New Orleans Anthony Davis and Clevelands Dion Waiters filled out the first team.
Kidd-Gilchrist made the second team along with Detroits Andre Drummond, Torontos Jonas Valanciunas, Detroits Kyle Singler and Clevelands Tyler Zeller. Singler played at Duke, Zeller at North Carolina.
Bobcats second-round pick Jeff Taylor received one vote in the coaches rookie team balloting.
