Ol’ Nettie Grove is at it still, giving a city planner a punch in the eye and getting a headline in the process (“Raleigh uproots 83-year-old widow,” May 13 Josh Shaffer column).
Once, Nettie was before the City Council attending to potholes on her street. A young councilman asked, “Where exactly is Ileagnes Road?”
Nettie’s reply: “If you don’t know now, you had better find out before the next election.”
Good going, Nettie.
