There’s a festival fit for everyone this weekend in the Triangle

Pianos on the streets of downtown Raleigh. Classic cars in Hillsborough. A tractor parade at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Chicken coops in Cary. Old-school hip hop music in Durham.

It’s a big festival weekend across the Triangle, and there’s likely something for every taste.

Artsplosure – Raleigh’s annual celebration of music, crafts and art – will fill downtown streets Saturday and Sunday.

Hillsborough Hogg Day – named for patriot James Hogg but also featuring plenty hog of the barbecue variety – started Friday night and continues Saturday.

Can’t wait until October for the food and fun of the N.C. State Fair? A similar event, the Got to be NC Festival, is taking over the fairgrounds all weekend.

The Tour D’Coop – an annual tour of chicken coops and urban farms – expands from Raleigh this year into Cary, where residents recently won the right to have backyard birds.

And the Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival will bring Naughty By Nature – the hip hop group known for its 1990s hits “O.P.P.” and “Hip Hop Hooray” – to the CCB Plaza in downtown Durham.
