Jessie Earl Carlyle

Jessie Earl Carlyle, 91, of the Pilot community, died Friday. He was a retired farmer, developer and builder, who took great pleasure in providing people an opportunity to afford a home. Mr. Earl loved the people in the community and expressed that love by providing vegetables from his community garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bethie Carlyle, son Bobby Earl Carlyle, grandson Matthew Earl Carlyle; sisters Blanche Freeman and Pearl Adams, brothers Robert, Ray and Curtis Carlyle.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3 PM Saturday at the Alford-Bunn-Upchurch Cemetery.

Surviving: son Thomas Carlyle and wife Lauren of Zebulon; daughters Rena Jean Long and Margaret Lou Bunn both of Zebulon; sisters Eunice Wagner of Zebulon and Faye Belvin of Raleigh; brother Clinton Carlyle of Zebulon; grandchildren Amanda Carlyle, Greg Bunn and wife Charlene, Henry Bunn and wife Tracy, Yvonne Tetterton and husband Mike; great-grandchildren Jonathan Phillips, Adam, Whitney and Taylor Bunn.

The family wants to express their sincere appreciation for Mr. Earl’s caregivers, Colleen, Ellen, Ann, Kay, Phyllis, Barbara and Amanda.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Thomas and Lauren Carlyle.
