Top coach’s worth

The May 17 editorial “Coaching gold” lambasts colleges and universities for paying successful coaches large sums of money, ending with: “Those who lead colleges and universities should decide that this race upward is not a contest worth winning.”

Question: What is the most consistently winning college men’s basketball coach currently worth? Answer: $9.7 million per year, and there is nothing any college or university can do about it!
