A disastrous recipe
Build a nuclear power plant (Shearon Harris) two miles from a fault line (Jonesboro). Run it by a company (Duke Energy Progress) that takes a full year to analyze data indicating there is a crack in the nuclear vessel. Store the largest repository in the country of nuclear control rods in the lake that does the cooling for the nuclear power plant (Harris Lake).
Now let’s do some fracking, deep-well injection known to cause earthquakes.
Earthquakes can cause fissures that in turn can cause the level of Lake Harris to go down, exposing the control rods and thus a nuclear incident.
And what do we have? A recipe for disaster.
