James A. Mason of Trenton, NJ, died peacefully Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Apex, NC, Mr. Mason was a resident of the Trenton area for many years. He attended Apex Elementary School in Apex, NC and Berry O’Kelly High School in Raleigh, NC, before serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Mason worked at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital for many years. He was also a lifelong member of White Oak Baptist Church in Apex, NC.
Predeceased by his parents, William H. Mason, Sr. and Estelle Patterson-Mason; his brothers, William H. Mason, Jr. and Robert Lee Mason, surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph L. Lunsford (Mary Christine) of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Klinton Joseph Lunsford and Daniel James Lunsford; two great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Mason Young (Randolph) of Durham, NC, Lillian Mason Holeman (Linwood) of Atlanta, GA, and Cathern Mason Evans (James) of Raleigh, NC; one uncle, Rev. Calvin Farrar; a special friend and caregiver, Marie Culmer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ 08638.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Final services will be held Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at White Oak Baptist Church, 1621 White Oak Road, Apex, NC.
Calling hours will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery Apex, NC.
