Deborah Kidman: Charging for charging?

Charged for charging

Electric and hybrid car owners pay sales tax, personal property tax and gas tax (when they fill up). Now they will be penalized for reducing oil consumption and their carbon footprint.

What’s next? A yearly charge for people who don’t smoke? What kind of people are sponsoring this state budget and these new regulations? Their claims of “less government” are a lie. Boasting as “job creators” is a hoax, as the legislature cuts 5,600 N.C. jobs.

N.C. is slipping into a dangerous place where education, health and the environment are taking a back seat. The repercussions will be grave. How much longer until the next election?
