Verneta Adams Johnson

Mrs. Verneta Adams Johnson, age 81 of 1330 Adams Road died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be 3:00PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church, Benson. Dr. Larry Withrow and Rev. Doug Abel will officiate. Burial will follow in Juniper Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks.

Mrs. Johnson was born November 5, 1931 in Johnston County to the late Condary and Myrtle Raynor Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Durwood Johnson, a grandson, Brian Farish and four brothers. Mrs. Johnson retired from Johnston Medical Center in the Sterile Processing Unit and was a member of Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church.

Surviving are Daughters and Sons-in-law, Marie and Bruce Thompson of Four Oaks, and Beverly and Tim Farish of Smithfield; Four Grandchildren, Renee Allen of Benson, Brandon Farish, Benjamin Farish and Brooklyn Farish all of Smithfield; Great-Grandchildren, Reed Allen, Ryder Allen, Ashlyn Farish and Riley Nobel; Sisters, Elameta Norris of Dunn, Josephine Jones of Concord, Maverine Jernigan of Raleigh and Normalene Stevens of Benson; Several Nieces and Nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Wake Medical Center in Raleigh especially Lianne and Pal for their wonderful care given to Mrs. Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM-2:30PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church, Benson and other times at the home of Beverly and Tim Farish, 1720 Crantock Road, Smithfield, NC 27577

Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be made to Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church C/O Phyllis Barefoot 64 Wood's Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504.
