Lorine Johnson Daughtry, age 71, died early Sunday morning at her home, after a long battle with cancer. Born November 19, 1941 in Johnston County she was the daughter of the late James Milton and Della Ingram Johnson. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Johnson, Leamon Johnson, Ober Johnson, Raeford Johnson, and Elton Johnson. Lorine was a graduate of Smithfield High School, and later worked and retired from Sara Lee Corporation and Johnston Memorial Hospital. Lorine was a member of Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Sanders Chapel UMC with Rev. Sean Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Ted Wayne Daughtry of the home; son, Jeffrey Wayne Daughtry and wife Wendy Scott Daughtry of Durham; daughter, Angela Daughtry Rabil of Smithfield; brother, Clifton Johnson of Charlotte; sisters, Susan Johnson and husband Dennis, and Katie Honeycutt and husband Don, all of Raleigh; grandchildren, Meredith Ashley Rabil, Morgan Alison Rabil, James Riley Daughtry, and Seth Wayne Daughtry.
