Tractor trailer crash kills one on I-95 in Johnston County

A passenger in a tractor trailer rig was killed when it overturned on I-95 early Saturday in Johnston County, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol. The patrol identified the man as John Richard Clark, 47, of Beverly Hills, Fla. The driver of the rig, Harold Feill of Orlando, Fla. was charged with careless and reckless driving and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Troopers determined that the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The accident happened about 4:20 a.m. Saturday when the 2013 International tractor trailer carrying orange juice was headed north on the interstate near Four Oaks when it hit the median and then stopped after striking a guard rail.

Feill was taken to WakeMed for treatment of his injuries, according to the highway patrol.
