Don Dubay: No ‘outside’ funding?

No ‘outside’ funding

Your June 11 article “Clergy lend voice to protest” reported that Gov. Pat McCrory blamed the anti-government protesters in Raleigh as “outsiders” wanting to influence N.C. politics.

Here’s a solution to the governor’s concerns: He and the other GOP/tea party leaders in our state government can pledge to not accept any “outside” funding of their political campaigns, such as from the Koch brothers’ Americans for Prosperity and Karl Rove’s American Crossroads Super PAC, in return for which the Raleigh protesters will promise to police themselves to make sure all are N.C. residents.

Seems like a fair bargain and should please McCrory’s concerns about outsider interference into N.C. politics.
