The contract of Duke men’s lacrosse coach John Danowski has been extended through the 2018 season, as announced by the school’s Vice President and Director of Athletics Kevin White Friday.

Last month, Danowski guided the Blue Devils to the NCAA Championship with a 16-10 victory against Syracuse in the national title game.

Track and Field

All-ACC: N.C. State’s Karimah Shepherd and national champions Brianna Rollins of Clemson and Tomas Kruzliak of Virginia Tech highlight the list of ACC outdoor track and field honorees, as announced by conference Commissioner John Swofford.

Shepherd, a long and triple jumper, was named women’s field Performer of the Year, while Rollins was voted the track Performer of the Year by the league’s head coaches after her record-setting showing in the 100 meter hurdles at last week’s NCAA Championship.

Kruzliak was selected the men’s field Performer of the Year and the Freshman of the Year after bringing home the national title in the hammer throw.

Florida State sprinter Dentarius Locke earned track Performer of the Year honors. His teammate Sage Watson received the nod as women’s Freshman of the Year.
