Store manager robbed outside Cary bank branch

From staff reportsJune 18, 2013

— Police Tuesday were investigating the robbery of a store manager who was making a night deposit at a bank on Monday when two men demanded the bank bag he was carrying.

Capt. Don Hamilton said the victim, a manager at a nearby GNC store, drove into the Wells Fargo bank branch at 1201 Walnut St. about 10 p.m.

When he got out of his car, two men approached him, and he told police they had handguns, Hamilton said.

The manager dropped the bag, and the pair grabbed it and ran away without hurting him, police said.

Police planned to review bank surveillance video Tuesday in hopes of getting a description of the suspects, Hamilton said.
