Roy Brock: Fiscally feckless

Fiscally feckless

In Marc Landry’s June 12 column, he seemed to hold up California as a much better state than North Carolina when comparing state income taxes his daughter would have paid if she were still living in North Carolina against what she paid in California. Landry should have done more research.

California is deep in debt, if truth be known, probably close to bankruptcy. I am 80 years old, and I remember Californians voting down one proposition after the other to pay their taxes as needed.

I don’t particularly like taxes, but I am glad I live in a progressive state that attempts to remain fiscally sound.
