Rainey M. Buscher

June 20, 2013

Rainey Michael Buscher, 37, died June 14, 2013 after a nearly year-long battle with cancer.

He was a welcoming, artistic, compassionate, talented, outgoing, intelligent and fun-loving young man. His greatest passion was to let others know about God's love for them. He used his God-given talents of singing, playing the guitar, and other instruments, to bring glory to God first and foremost. He was a Worship Leader at his home church, New Life Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist church in Chapel Hill, NC, as well as Discovery Church, in Clayton, NC. He graduated from Wake Technical Community College in Garner, NC with a two-year associates degree in electrical technology and industrial plant technology. He also earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mount Olive College. His most recent position was Facilities Manager at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He also worked in the Engineering department as an Electronics Technician for 9 years at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Buscher; mother, Jenifer Coleman; brother, Danu Buscher; sister, Amethyst Finlayson; maternal grandfather, William McKay, and paternal grandmother, Ruth Haley. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Robin Buscher and adopted father, Alan Buscher and biological father, Robert Haley, Jr. He was loved by many, and will be sorely missed. He will be remembered most for his love of people from all walks of life, and for his desire to always bring smiles and laughter into the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. His life was a true example of faith.
