Wake announces principal changes

— The Wake County school board announced Tuesday that two principals are taking jobs in the central office and six schools are getting interim principals.

Doug Thilman will leave Cary High School, where he's been principal since 2007, to become assistant superintendent for human resources. Gerald Pickett, a retired principal, will fill in at Cary High through August.

Brian Pittman will leave Holly Ridge Middle School in Holly Springs, where he's been principal since 2008, to become senior director for middle school programs.

Darryl Fisher will serve as interim principal of Walnut Creek Elementary School in Southeast Raleigh in July. Fisher is a retired principal who spent much of his career at Wilburn Elementary School.

Charles Langley will be interim principal of Wildwood Forest Elementary School in North Raleigh in July. The retired principal spent much of his career at Willow Springs Elementary School.

Vicki Perry will be interim principal of Creech Road Elementary School in Garner through August. She retired recently as principal of Harris Creek Elementary School.

Judy Dudley's tenure as interim principal at Leesville Road Elementary School in North Raleigh will be extended through July.

Roy Teel's tenure as interim principal of Hunter Elementary School in Raleigh has been extended through August.
