From staff reportsJune 20, 2013

— State investigators have charged a Wake County man with 10 counts of having pornographic computer video files involving children.

State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Allen Kenneth Ferrante, 35, of 1328 Trinity Road on Wednesday afternoon at his job as a car mechanic at a shop on U.S. 64 in Apex.

Arrest warrants accused Ferrante of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and detailed 10 videos that investigators said showed prepubescent boys and girls in sexual situations or actions.

The warrants said Ferrante had the videos from March 9 through Wednesday.

Agent E. Michael Smith of the SBI’s Computer Crimes Unit filed the charges.

Ferrante was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail for a court appearance Thursday.
