Bob Harper: Dems the problem

Dems the problem

Wow! The letter writers and demonstrators are coming on strong. According to them just about every ailment North Carolina has is because of the mean Republicans.

Let’s take a look at the condition of our state when Gov. Pat McCrory took office.

The Democrats had managed the state so well that North Carolina ranks 47th in the nation in unemployment. Businesses and entrepreneurs don’t see N.C. as an ideal place to start a company or move their current company here. Would a CEO of a top company move their company here?

First, the CEO knows that he and his employees will be paying higher personal taxes. In addition his company will pay corporate taxes. Jobs in no income tax states have grown almost twice as much as in income tax states.

We must remember those great Democrat leaders: Rep. James Black went to jail; Meg Scott Phipps three years in prison; and Gov. Mike Easley became the first N.C. governor to be convicted of a felony.

The best way to deal with poverty is with economic growth and the Dems don’t seem to be for that.
