Unemployed in 2014

Repeatedly, news outlets quote legislative leaders saying that “Moral Mondays” and their burgeoning crowds of supporters are not changing their minds.

Few in this building movement ever thought such efforts would sway the thinking of extremist legislators. But these public servants will not make their regressive and life-damaging decisions in the privacy that such activities require to survive.

The movement has brought to light what the legislative majority would rather remain hidden. The day of reckoning will come on the next election day.

Their exit strategy will surely include bringing back unemployment benefits – for each of the defeated.
