Holly Ridge students ace their first Science Olympiad

Students from Holly Ridge Elementary School in Holly Springs came home from the school’s first regional Science Olympiad competition with a second-place trophy.

In addition to the second-place award, the varsity team won the Spirit Award at the N.C. Science Olympiad’s Middle Creek Regional Division A tournament.

Here are the students, listed by teams, who competed in the event: Jordan Smith and Ashleigh Nicoll; Max Hooper and Ryan Harasti; Jake Russolese and Cade Viney; Stephanie Pound and Eva Renfro; Shrey Vasisht and Neel Naik; Myah Smith and Valentina Moya; Hayden Simpson and Taylor Spies; Kassie Jesrani and Jillian Clarke; Gracie Vaughan and Jenna Decker; Riley Gower and Katherine Kessler; Hannah Grunden and Julia Westmoreland; Julia Kearney and Leyana Knight; Anna Sharp, Abby Henderson and Hannah Morton; and Caroline Odom, Annie O’Brien and Blain Denget.
