Language skills land student a trip to Germany

June 23, 2013

Ben Jones

Ben Jones, a recent graduate of Raleigh Charter High School, scored high enough on the Level 2013 National German Exam for High School Students to earn an all-expenses-paid trip to Germany for two weeks this summer.

He was one of 44 students nationwide selected for the trip, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German with government funding. He was picked for his high score on the German exam, which was followed by essay questions in German and English and an interview with German-language teachers.

In Germany, he’ll stay with a host family, attend a German school and visit cultural and historical sites.
