Caroline Russell: Fracking frights

Fracking fears

Wow! I am amazed after reading two June 26 articles: “Panel OK with fracking secrets” and “Is fracking polluting drinking water?” The first article informed us that the toxic ingredients that energy companies inject into the ground will not be disclosed to the residents of our beautiful state. The second article stated that Duke researchers have concluded that fracking increases water contamination.

I don’t understand why people are not more concerned about this situation. Is everyone planning to move after North Carolina’s water supply is ruined? We need to protect our state! The senators pushing this through are not looking out for North Carolina.
