From Staff ReportsJune 27, 2013

— Local police and U.S. Marshals arrested Tracy Holloway Umstead on Wednesday on charges that he was part of a May 3 robbery on Kent Street.

The marshals’ Joint Fugitive Task Force arrested Umstead at a home on N.C. 751, Durham police said.

Umstead, 23, of Cornell Street, was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail on one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of possession of stolen property and resisting a public officer.

The robbery and attempted charges stem from an incident in which two men used a gun to rob a woman and tried to rob a man while the couple was walking on Kent Street.

Javon Nathaniel Winstead, 20, of Yancey Street in Durham was charged May 17 in the same case.
