A.J. Ellis singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-3, Saturday in the third tilt of a four-game set at Dodger Stadium.
After the Phillies tied the game in the top of the ninth, Hanley Ramirez led off the bottom half with a single to center field off Justin De Fratus.
De Fratus (2-3) responded with a strikeout of Matt Kemp, but walked Andre Ethier before Ellis smacked a single through the right side of the infield, allowing Ramirez to slide in just ahead of right fielder Delmon Young's throw to the plate to send the Dodgers to victory.
Kenley Jansen (2-3) earned the victory, despite giving up the game-tying run in the top of the ninth.
Ramirez finished with three hits, including a three-run homer, and scored twice for the Dodgers, who bounced back from Friday's 16-1 rout to earn their seventh win in their last eight games.
Chase Utley smacked a pair of solo shots for Philadelphia, which had won three of its last four games entering the contest.
