Scout offers basketball camp

Lauren Rebecca Childrey of Cary has earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For her Gold project, Lauren organized a three-day basketball camp for girls in which she taught the basics of the game, emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship.

Lauren, the daughter of Don and Sandy Childrey, is a member of Troop 1237 and attended Athens Drive High School in Raleigh.
