Shirley Rosenberg

June 30, 2013

Shirley Rosenberg, 87, died on June 28, 2013 at Spring Arbor of Raleigh where she had lived for the past 3 years. Shirley was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Morris and Dora Sosnoff. Shirley met the love of her life, Edward Rosenberg, and they were married on April 17, 1948. Eddie and Shirley were married for 64 years and together they were blessed with a family that included two children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Shirley created a loving home for her husband, daughter and son. She was the best mom in the world. Her passions were her children – first and foremost. Shirley loved to bake – the world’s best apple cake was a staple at all family get-togethers. Shirley also knitted and did crotchet and needlepoint and many of her pieces are now family heirlooms. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rosenberg. She is survived by daughter Cheryl (Stu) Goldis, son Stuart (Barbara) Rosenberg, and grandchildren Melissa (Eli) Matyas, Staci Goldis, Samantha (TJ) Griffin, Michael Rosenberg, Danny Rosenberg and great-grandchildren Ava Matyas and James Griffin.

The family would like to thank Spring Arbor of Raleigh for the extraordinary care and compassion they gave to Miss Shirley.

Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services Monday, July 1st at noon at Shalom Mem. Park, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Shiva will be observed at the home of Cheryl and Stu Goldis. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
