Fashionable First Friday Happenings
Art (and free food and wine) isnt the only draw on First Friday. Several Raleigh boutiques will host First Friday events this week. Heres the skinny:
• Raleigh Screen Print will have new hand printed t-shirts for $10, along with grub from local food trucks such as American Meltdown, Baguettaboutit and Captain Ponchos Tacos during the First Friday Food Truck Frenzy, 6-10 p.m. Raleigh Screen Print is at 316 W. Cabarrus St., 919-834-0102.
• Stitch Holly Aiken will stay open late Friday -- until 10 p.m. -- and shoppers can save 25 percent on everything in the store. The 25 percent discount is good through July 7. Stitch is at 20 E. Hargett St., 919-833-8770.
• Moon and Lola also will offer First Friday savings, along with later hours. The shop will be open until 10 p.m. and customers will receive 15 percent off all items in the store. Moon and Lola is at 208 S. Wilmington St., 919- 322-4277.
• Artspace will display new pieces by Raleigh jewelry designer and sculptor Sarah West as part of its New Artists Association Members Exhibition, which opens with a reception from 6-10 p.m. Artspace is at 201 E. Davie St., 919- 821-2787.
Swap and Save
During the month of July, High Cotton will give shoppers extra incentive to buy local with their Swap and Save promotion. Shoppers who bring in a foreign-made polo or bowtie to exchange will receive 20 percent off the purchase of one of High Cottons North Carolina-made polos or bowties. For details, call 919-817-8319.
J. Alanes Fine Lingerie is now open in Cameron Village. The local lingerie boutique carries high-end under things by designers such as Chantelle, Panache, Mary Green and Prima Donna Lingerie, among others. J.
