Leonard Wilson: No holiday for jobless

No joy for jobless

Hopefully, Gov. Pat McCrory and his friends on Jones Street in Raleigh will have a great holiday, filled with cookouts, refreshments, family gatherings, neighborhood parties and, most of all, a job to look forward to at holiday’s end.

Another scenario, however, is the heartbreaking realization that an additional 70,000 North Carolinians, many of them well-educated professionals craving a job, most any job at this point, will find little to laugh about or look forward to today as their unemployment assistance ends and their children ask, “What’s for dinner”?
