Glenn Looper: Bill reeks of irony

Bill reeks of irony

What bitter irony. Republican state senators voted for a bizarrely paranoid bill to keep Sharia law out of N.C. courts, but first they attached amendments that will impose religion-based restrictions on the rights of women in our state.

Who says you can’t have it both ways? If you call it Sharia, it’s against the law. If you call it Republican, it’s the law of the land. Either way, it’s the same thing. A bunch of hypocritical men want to tell women what’s best for them – women who are perfectly capable of making their own decisions about their own lives.
