Teddy Devereux: A time to act

A time to act

What is happening to N.C. politics? We used to be the most progressive of the Southern states.

As a woman, I am now scared that we are going back to the Stone Age. I am very disheartened by the turnaround and worried about my rights. Every day there seems to be a new surprise.

The almost entirely conservative and male state Senate has sneaked through a bill without discussion to interfere with women’s personal health issues that should involve only the woman and her doctor.

I have been inactive in politics except for voting. I see that the quiet majority like me needs to start getting more involved and active to make our state politicians work for all the people of N.C.
