Rev. Bervin H. Ferguson

Reverend Bervin H. Ferguson, 78, of Youngsville died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Wake Medical Center. Born July 2, 1935 to the late Jack Henry and Florence Woodlief Ferguson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bervin Henry Ferguson, Jr. and his brother, John Ferguson. A Franklin county native and a graduate of Campbell University. Reverend Ferguson served in Union Valley, White’s Creek, Forest Lawn, Capeharts, Cedar Branch, Horeb and Whatley Baptist Churches over the last 50 years before retiring in September of 2003.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Harris Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. William Haley and Dr. Merlin Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fuller Ferguson; his son, Charles Fuller Ferguson of Youngsville; his daughter, Wanda Perry and husband, Merrill of Edenton, NC; five sisters, Dorothy Cooke of Rolesville, Bonnie Wood of Louisburg, Mae Finch of Wake Forest, Jackie Allen of Clayton and Peggy Brantley of Middlesex; two brothers, Samuel Ferguson of Louisburg and Charlie Ferguson of Durham; three grandchildren, Lauren Perry Williams, Carlin Ferguson and Andrew Ferguson.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Harris Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2960 Tarboro Road, Youngsville, NC 27596 or to a church of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg, NC. Online condolences may be made to
