Zebulon man charged with attempted murder after woman shot

— Jerry Thomas Glenn, 62, of Zebulon was being held in lieu of $1 million bail Monday on attempted murder and assault charges after a woman was hit with shotgun pellets during a dispute on July 4.

Wake County sheriff’s deputies arrested Glenn on Saturday afternoon on Parks Avenue in Zebulon.

They said Glenn, of 685 Williams White Road, was responsible for hitting Stacey Lynn Tillman in the head with birdshot from a .410-gauge shotgun.

Deputies who investigated the incident said they believed Tillman, who did not receive life-threatening wounds, was the intended target.

The shooting happened during an altercation, Capt. James Stephens said.

Arrest warrants charged Glenn with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
