Ted Raper: ‘Contest’ not funny

‘Contest’ not funny

Grass Roots North Carolina president Paul Valone inadvertently made sense of Gabrielle Giffords’ desire to keep the location of her Raleigh visit secret with his ill-conceived and not-at-all funny “contest” offering 100 rounds of ammunition to anyone who could disclose her location (Under the Dome, July 7). He said that his intention was not to promote violence, but what else would one use 100 rounds of ammunition for besides violence?

I’m reasonably certain this is the reason they wanted to keep the location secret in the first place!
