The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Chris Kaman, the 7-foot center tweeted on Monday.
The specifics of the deal have not been released, but the Los Angeles Times reported Kaman will sign a one-year contract with the Lakers when free agency officially begins.
"It's true, I am going to be going back to LA and it's to play for the Lakers! I am excited about this move and can't wait to play," read Kaman's Twitter post.
Kaman, 31, spent his first eight seasons in Los Angeles but played with the Clippers after they selected him with the sixth overall pick in the 2003 draft. He averaged a double-double in 2007-08 and logged 18.5 points two seasons later.
His production has dipped the past three seasons, though, last year averaging 10.5 points and a career-low tying 5.6 rebounds in 66 games with the Dallas Mavericks.
