6-year-old drowns at Raleigh residence

From staff reportsJuly 9, 2013

— Police say foul play was not a factor in the drowning death of a 6-year-old girl Monday evening at a home in the 2700 block of Barmettler Street.

Police have said little else about the incident, including how the girl drowned. Officers were called to the home at about 6:45 p.m. Monday.

The girl was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh, where she later died, according to police spokesman Jim Sughrue.
